5 Hairstyles to Rock any Christmas Party

Our lovely friend Neil Barton of Neil Barton Hairdressing, has given us 5 hairstyles for Christmas Parties!

Christmas is a time when we have more than one party, and having hair inspiration and advice can be the difference. Don’t be shy to try out styles at home, before the night, perhaps invite friends over to help.

Let the Christmas parties be a time to shine!

Vintage Hollywood Style

Vintage 1940s inspired rolls, pin curls and finger waves are timeless classics and so sophisticated. Think Hollywood screen sirens like Veronica Lake or modern day pin-ups like Lana Del Ray. This style looks best on ladies with mid to long length hair and with round or heart-shaped faces. Wear with a side parting and allow the hair to gently fall over one shoulder.

The Grecian

The Grecian look is another favourite because it is a relaxed, soft and unstructured look. Pile the hair up loosely on top of the head and pin in place. Finish with simple hair accessories such as fresh flowers for a really feminine touch.

Braid me up baby!

Braids comes in many different forms, from the French braid, Dutch braid and side braid, to the waterfall braid and fishtail braid… the listis endless! It’s a great way of softly pulling the hair back off your face and a braided twist updo is great for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. Another one of my favourite braided looks is to plait the hair into a fishtail, mess it up slightly for a more ‘undone’ look and pin high on the head into a bun shape.

The Classic Updo

You can never go wrong with the class up do, it’s perfect for all hair lengths and there are arrays of styles from buns, to chignons to beehives that you can go for. Add a sparkly accessory to give the up do some extra glamour!

Bouncy Waves and Curls

Big bouncy hair is also a great hairstyle for those Christmas parties, use rollers to give the hair extra volume and make sure the hair has a healthy shine to give a luxurious finish.
