We can’t quite believe it’s been 33 years since Bob Geldof and his partner, Paula Yates got the idea to create this epic masterpiece!

Calling all of their contacts into play, Bob Geldof and pal Midge Ure, recorded this song in just 24 hours! They called upon all of their musical contacts, and they descended on a recording studio in London’s Notting Hill. Big stars of the time, Duran Duran, Phil Collins, Sting, George Michael, Kool and The Gang, Bono, Paul Young, Bananarama, and Status Quo.

The video consists mainly of stars arriving, and the huge celebrity line up all singing together. Band Aid, recieved support from television and radio channels the UK over, and soon sold over a million copies. It still continues to enter the charts and has had two further version made.
